STYLEAID is a major fundraising event on Perth’s social calendar. Held annually, the event showcases outstanding designs in a beautiful runway show and provides a specialty three-course dinner with drinks, really great entertainment – all for a GREAT cause! I went two years ago and enjoyed myself so much! Admittedly I may have enjoyed the free flowing champagne a bit too much (aim this year – actually make it to the after party).

Each year is themed and this year’s is just so relevant to the digital age that we’re in: CONNECT. Dress code? Black-tie. Black and white. With a hint of red. Love it.

The possibilities are endless and the ideas are flowing! I’ve made a few ideas boards that are all quite different. Which one do you love?

The following look is the one I’m leaning towards. Just because there’s a dress code it doesn’t mean you should confine your personal style and I want my style to shine through! I’ve already ordered a red floral crown off eBay and am hoping to find a beautiful white dress when scouring boutiques in QLD in two weeks.

As of Monday I’ll be one year older. Age is just a number though, and the stuff I’m really digging will stay the same regardless of how much older and wiser (hah!) I am.

Listening LOUD NOISES. I listened to my fave radio station live on my phone while doing cardio the other night and discovered the weekly program The Racket. It’s all heavy music – metal, screamo, etc – and it got me so damn PUMPED. I ran over 3km without even realising.

Watching The Fall 2013 RTW shows currently being showcased in Paris. Isabel Marant is always the one to watch if forecasting what trends will be BIG in the coming season. I find her influence on the fashion world to be amazing and so significant. Her Fall RTW collection, showcased yesterday, absolutely blew me away. It’s like she understands what I want so much that it almost makes me cry. I think I need to do a separate post on it so you can see why for yourself. Here’s one of my favourite looks though.

Reading Uni books. As I’m now officially a university student! Travelling last year really helped me decide where I want to go/who I want to be, which ultimately lead to the decision of how I’m going to get there! So, from Wednesday my mind will enter the world of Mass Communications, and in the coming years will be exploring areas such as online communications, marketing, journalism and PR. Bring it!

Shopping For items that make my study area a place in which I won’t mind spending hours on end. Minimalism is key for me, as I find I work best when there is no clutter. It will be a light and welcoming space and one that will allow my imagination and creativity to flow.

Travelling To my home away from home, Margaret River. A 3 hour drive the south of Perth, it is one of my favourite places in the world, providing stunning beaches (the first pic in this post was taken in Margs), dense whimsical forest and amazing wineries all within a few km of each other. This is where I go to escape. This trip in particular will be great, as the Margaret River Surfing Pro will be on. Last time I saw Kelly Slater!

Eating Out quite a bit this month, particularly this weekend for my birthday. Had a nice dinner out last night with 20 of my closest friends at a local Italian spot. Tonight I’m extremely looking forward to dining at one of Perth’s newest and hottest restaurants, Bistro Guilliame. Apparentely it’s French food at it’s finest. It will be a classy and delicious affair. An outfit post will ensue.

Drinking Less alcohol. There, I said it. Now that I’ve made it as public as putting it on the world wide web, hopefully it will give me the encouragement to actually stick to it. There’s no denying what a negative effect booze has on the body, all the evidence is out there and all the evidence is felt when waking up after a big night out. I HATE feeling like crap and I don’t think getting drunk is worth it. I’d much rather be able to go for a run and jump in the ocean than die on my couch all day declaring over and over that ‘I’m never drinking again, eveeeeerrr’.

IMG_2075I take fitness selfies when feeling my best – they help to motivate me by reminding me of  how being fit and healthy makes me feel. Cutting down on alcohol plays a MAJOR part in this feeling. For outfits sake: shorts by Lorna Jane, crop by Nike.

Have a glorious month xx

My perfect dress

IMG_1214IMG_1215 IMG_1216The almost unacceptably short length, uneven hemline, delicate fraying and so-loose-I-can-see-everything fit makes One Teaspoon’s One Hundred Year dress so imperfect that it’s perfect. I love it when things that shouldn’t be beautiful defy theory and instead shine in unique and prodigious glory.

I last used this dress by throwing it over my bathers, before that posing unashamedly in my back garden. Next I think I’ll don a lace bralet and some heels to glam it up. Versatility is a great thing.
