Travelling to Uluru and North Queensland!!!! I can’t believe it’s so close. In under two weeks I will be on a plane to the ‘Red Centre’ of Australia and embark on a three day camping trip making my way to the wonder that is Uluru. I’m so excited to learn more about the Aboriginal cultural heritage along the way; I think it’s something every Australian should experience and I’m expecting the insight will allow me to look at my country very differently. Next up I will travel to North Queensland basically in the hope that it will be warm enough to spend every day at the beach. I’m also going to visit the beautiful Daintree Forest. But what’s the most exciting part of it all? Read on to find out ;)

Eating protein snacks that are clean, packed with nutrients and just soooo darn easy to make. Most recently I made apple cinnamon protein bars and chocolate peanut butter biscuits. Drooling yet? I’m posting the recipes in the next few days.

Drinking hot water with lemon and honey every morning because BOO I have tummy issues but also YAY because it’s reminded me just how good drinking this every morning makes me feel! I’m sure you’ve probably heard the benefits before but here are some anyway – it’s cleansing, alkalizing,  energy boosting and most beneficial in my case right now, it aids digestion. Be gone bad toxins.

Watching bands play live! The highlights of my past two weekends have consisted of having a few brewskies (albeit probably too many) and heading to see an awesome band play a just as awesome set. Last weekend was Jinja Safari and this weekend I saw San Cisco (they’re from my home town Freo and are only like, 16 years old and just SO talented. Kinda makes me question what the hell I’m doing with my life haha). Seriously listen to both bands though, their music make me so happy I feel a need to dance whenever I hear them. Sweet, sweet vibes.

Shopping  for a Sky Diving experience. Ohhh yeah buddy. It was a new years resolution and I thought that if I’m going to do it, I have to do it in an absolutely stunning location. So when I decided to travel to North Queensland there was no stopping me. SO PUMPED! I’ll be sure to get a sweet video.

Listening – to my favourite songs from the past 20 years, thanks to the best radio station in the world aka Triple J. Every year they run the ‘Hottest 100’ which counts down the best songs of the previous year based on the publics votes. It’s a massive thing here in Aus. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the hottest 100, they’re counting down the top 100 songs of the past 20 years. To vote I had to compile a list of my 20 favourites. It was so hard yet so rewarding!! Searching through all the songs just brought back so many great, hilarious memories. My number 1 song was Kasabian’s “L.S.F.” pretty much cos they’re the best band in the world. Ever. Also in the mix was Bon Iver, Green Day, System of a Down, Blink 182, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds…. and many more!

Reading…. I must admit, nothing (besides uni stuff but that doesn’t count). I just simply haven’t had time. But now that I’m going on holiday I’ll definitely need a good read or three – do you have any suggestions? :)

Have a fantastic June xx

Spell’s storm collection took me from day to night on Saturday (second pic is with their slouchies and the first and sixth with their mega cute barbarella shorts, worn with their cowrie shell bra and a Zara singlet); healthy lunch to balance out the impending cocktail consumption – tofu patty, mix of raw salads and coconut water; drinking cocktails and playing Connect 4 is fun, especially when you’re kicking butt; Jinja Safari had awesome vibes and yes they’re also extremely good looking; walking home satisfied with the food, cocktails and tunes consumed; on Sunday food prepping for the week to come like a boss – turkey rissoles, sweet potato cubes and clean-eating apple, cinnamon and protein bars.

I hope you had a fabulous weekend x

Watching Never thought I’d say this but – Game of Thrones. It’s quite in-your-face which initially threw me off. I’m so glad I gave it another go though. It has fantastic story lines, great characters, brilliant cinematography, and beautiful sceneries and costume design. So addictive.

Reading Writing Music. I’ve been doing lots of playing around with vocals, experimenting with the sounds and melodies that my voice can produce. I find the lyrics are flowing quite freely as I find inspiration in many different crevices of my life. It’s become my own little creative escape!

My favourite song that I have produced was inspired by road trips to the coast. I called it my ‘happy song’.

Travelling The thought of not getting out of Perth for a month would usually be depressing, but this month is an exception as I have an amazing holiday to look forward to in just 6 weeks!…

Shopping I am busily preparing for this diverse trip – thermals, ugg boots and copious layers of clothing will be required when camping in the desert at Uluru whilst spending my days lying on a beach in Port Douglas (north Queensland) will require bikinis, cute throw-overs and a few pairs of Havs.

Eating THIS BABY. Yes it’s chocolate cake and yes it’s delicious. And it’s healthy (as it can be). I’m such a tease so I’m not giving you the recipe yet. Post to come lovers.

Drinking Green smoothies. I’ve just recently started drinking them and Im diggin’ it. One can only pay a ridiculously high amount for them for so long, so I’ve recently started making my own – 1 banana blended with a cup of spinach and about 3/4 cup water. Add into the mix – some spirulina for extra greeny goodness, some PB for protein and some honey for some sweetness.

Listening To this song which I actually discovered by watching an ad for beer. The ad didn’t make me want the beer but my oh my it certainly made me want this song. James Vincent McMorrow welcome to my life. Finish reading this post on a high by having a listen xx

Listening To sweet, soulful sounds that allow my mind to wander to places of serenity and solitude. Think a progressive electro/dub/soul soundscape. James Blake and Hayden Calnin are two artists that continuously whisk me away to a faraway land.

Watching the waves roll in while feeling the sand between my toes as I endeavour to hit the beach as much as humanly possible before autumn brings forth its cold and windy ways. It’s not very frollick friendly.

Reading The Prophet is a collection of work by Kahlil Gibran. Gibran is the third best selling poet of all time, and his prose poems in The Prophet are thought-provoking and so inspiring. It will change the way you perceive and view the world around you forever.

Shopping For loose and baggy clothes: a pair of ripped boyfriend jeans, an oversized chunky cardi and a slouched beanie. Fuck yeah comfort.

Travelling To Margaret River (again), which doesn’t quite seem enough – but booking my upcoming trip to Australia’s Red Centre will certainly make up for it! I was considering traveling overseas but realised how much I want to see my country, explore its history and beauty. To really get to know it. So in July, I will spend two weeks travelling to and around Uluru (including three days of camping, sleeping in my swag under the stars), then making my way up to Broome, a beautiful coastal town situated in the North-west of Australia.

Eating Lots of healthy and home-made food courtesy of Teresa Cutter. She is something of a cooking genius. First up: chocolate mousse made of raw cacao, avocado, banana and agave. Oh for the love of sweet guilt-free indulgence.

Drinking Red wine, as my trip to Margs has reignited my love affair with the deep red magical substance. Drops of choice? Tempranillo and Cab Sav. Oaky.  Heavy bodied. In large quantities.

More Margs photos to come xx

Boats, bass and LOTS of bruises…

308021_10151475526359669_738296434_nThis boat party was out. of. con. trol.

It was an absolute blur. Is it just me or does alcohol affect you more when at sea? I was oooone drunken sailor.

It was an amazing day. I was with some of the best girls (and guys!) in the world, dancing like crazy to some quality drum n bass (I think I got on the mic at one point haha oh and defs fell over once or twice), lapping up some rays and generally just loving life to its absolute fullest.
